IHS Official Press Release
New onboard hydrogen generator (i-phi™) will be introduced at the 2009 American Trucking Association (ATA) Management Conference and Exhibition
Las Vegas, Nevada: Innovative Hydrogen Solutions, Inc. (IHS) will introduce the new i-phi™ (Innovative – Partial Hydrogen Injection) at the 2009 American Trucking Association Management Conference and Exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 5, 2009. The product will be on display at the show in booth 571 located in the ATA Green Pavilion.
The i-phi™ is a hydrogen generating module for diesel powered trucks, tractors, generator sets, buses and other vehicles. The i-phi™ produces a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen gasses, on demand, through a controlled electrolysis process. The addition of these gases significantly improves the engine’s combustion process, resulting in more complete fuel burn. Increasing the amount of fuel burned in the combustion process delivers increased fuel economy (which saves money) and cleaner exhaust (which reduces emissions) and less soot and carbon deposits (which keeps the engine oil and components, like EGRs cleaner and increases service intervals).
i-phi™ Product Benefits:
- Improved fuel mileage (fuel savings)
- Lowered emissions / less impact on the environment
- Greater horsepower
- Reduced maintenance and/or operating costs
- Prolonged engine life
IHS is also announcing a new manufacturing agreement with Salem Preferred Partners (SPP) of Salem, Virginia. “After 4.5 years and millions of dollars invested in the development and testing we are now ready to bring the i-phi™ to market” said Peter McLaughlin, CEO of IHS. McLaughlin went on to say, “we are very pleased to have partnered with SPP who has manufacturing expertise in Canada and the USA for the heavy duty truck OEM market.”
Joe Williams – IHS President said, “President Obama’s State of the Union address before Congress on Jan 28, 2009, called for the federal government to spend billions on research to develop clean energy technologies focused on protecting the environment. This confirms the importance of our i-phi™ system.” Williams goes on to say, “We are working hard on developing the infrastructure required to support our aggressive sales forecast for 2010.”
Dave Mearon, Chairman of the Board and head of IHS Research and Development said, “Now that the i-phi™ generation 1 model is completed, we will start focusing attention on other market segments such as locomotives, ships, and agriculture.”
